Fortune under magnifying glass - cross estimate of incomes and property starts in August

- Cross estimate of incomes and property of citizens who are assumed or turned to have property whose value ranges between 15 and 20m CSD or more and is not followed by the appropriate incomes will start in August 2006 - the manager of the Tax Administration, Vladimir Ilić, announced.

He said that nothing spectacular should be expected from that control, because neither extra-profit, nor extra-property is checked, but the return on property in period of one year, which represents the base for tax and, if it can be justified by the legal incomes, the criminal charges for evasion of tax will be pressed.

- These are not big amounts of money. It is estimated that they amount to several tens of millions of dinars, but the problem is that it is very complex and delicate procedure, due to which the special rule book has been passed and the only aim is to determine whether someone registered all incomes - said Ilić.

According to his words, the property worth over 20m CSD has been registered by only 1,298 citizens and it is estimated that there are between 10,000 and 20,000 of people with the aforementioned property.
