Bela Crkva is the last municipality in Vojvodina to obtain gas infrastructure, and the construction of a 35-kilometer gas pipeline and the central measuring and control station should kick off soon. The plan is to build 12 measuring and control stations, 50 kilometers of medium-pressure gas pipeline, 7 kilometers of low-pressure gas pipeline and 155 kilometers of gas supply network over the next year and a half. The entire project is worth EUR 8.5 million, it was announced on the website of Srbijagas.
Aside from Bela Crkva, this gas infrastructure development project will also cover Banatska Palanka, Banatska Subotica, Vracev Gaj, Grebenac, Dobricevo, Dupljaja, Jasenovo, Kajtasovo, Kaludjerovo, Kruscica, Kusic, Crvena Crkva, Cesko Selo and Stara Palanka.
An agreement on gas infrastructure development was signed early this summer between Zeljko Crnogorac, mayor of Bela Crkva at the time, Jovica Budimir, executive investment director at the public company Srbijagas, and Milinko Cicmil, CEO of Promont Group Novi Sad, which is a strategic partner in this project.
This project will enable a regular supply of gas to industrial consumers and, potentially, 7,300 households.
