Reconstruction of airport Ponikve near Užice started, Government of Serbia set aside 175m CSD for that purpose

- For the first phase of reconstruction of military airport Ponikve and its adaptation for use for civilian purposes, Government of Serbia set aside 175m CSD from National Investment Fund in 2006 - the Minister of Finance Mlađan Dinkić confirmed.

Along with Niš, Ponikve should, according to his words, be the second regional airport in Serbia, intended for the charter-flights and cargo-transportation.

Partial rehabilitation of damages caused by bombing of airport Ponikve was carried out mainly on the part of the runway. These days, the pyrotechnists of the Army of Serbia are working on the neutralization of the remaining seven explosive devices.

The plan is that the workers of Užice-based "Putevi" soon start paving about 140,000 square meters of runway.
