DACIC: Sanctions for anyone who asks favors from foreign investors

Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated Wednesday that every attempt to ask any favor from foreign investors in return for allowing them to invest in Serbia will be sanctioned.

- It is in the interest of the state that investors come to Serbia, and not that someone illegally pursue personal interests by asking favors from foreign investors - he said at a press conference and invited all foreign investors to contact him or government agencies if such offers were made to them.

Dacic expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that some representatives of other countries teach Serbia lessons on corruption and crime.

- It bothers me when somebody comes to Belgrade from any institution from around the world, and even the European Union, to give us lessons because I am sure that corruption still exists in the EU - Dacic said when asked to comment on the statement of EP Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin that the state of Serbia racketeers investors.

Dacic added that he was also against the exertion of political pressure on Serbia for some economic interests that someone wanted to achieve in our country.

He stressed that the question was why disputable privatizations had not been checked and processed earlier, reminding that none of the disputable privatizations mentioned by the EU had taken place after he had joined the Serbian government in 2008.
