“Vršački vinogradi” AD are currently the most desirable company which is expecting an ownership transformation, because 540 of small investors own a little over 15% of shares and the rest will have a new owner very soon. Documentation has been bought by 4 interested parties and their bids will be opened to public on Monday 11th of April 2005. Off the record the companies are an Italian company with which “Vršački vinogradi” have successfully done business, consortium involving Miodrag Babić from “Hemofarm”, Rodoljub Drašković, owner of a great business empire, and wine cellar “Čoka”. .
“Vršački vinogradi” own plantations over 1.700 ha, of which over 1.400 ha is planted and fully grown. Part of it, 400 ha, is cleared and will be planted with new seeds, which is included in the offer..
In Vršac community two more healthy social agricultural companies are left for privatization “Agrovršac” and “Elan” from Izbišta, which are mostly in land cultivating business
Out of 3.500 owned by “Agrovršac”, 1.400 will be privatized. Under the company’s ownership is a farm with around 1.000 cows of different breading, 380 of which are milk producing cows. Farm employees around 70 people, which is enough for the technical level of the production. Daily milk production varies from 5.500 to 6.000 liters of milk.
“Elan” owns only 1.600 ha of first class land, and 629 ha is government property.
