US Citibank intends to increase its activity in Serbia and region

U.S. Citibank will be more active in Serbia and the region in the future, its representatives announced in a talk with Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic on Friday.

On that occasion, Dacic stressed that one of the most important goals of the Serbian government was to revive the economy and pointed to the advantages of Serbia as an investment area.

Participants in this meeting discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of banking and foreign investment, particularly telecommunications and energy.

The delegation of Citibank, which included Head of the Public Sector Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa Freddy Boom and Head of Citibank Office in Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania Predrag Radlovacki, was led by Charles McVeigh, the Chairman of Citigroup’s Corporate and Investment Banking, Global Wealth Management Partnership.

Citibank opened its branch office in Belgrade in 2007.

This bank, which operates in 140 countries across the world and employs 260,000 people, was the one to grant a loan to Telekom Srbije to buy Telekom Srpske in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
