From glass to aluminum carpentry and facade - Savabien starts production in Indjija in autumn 2012

Everything is ready for the start of serial production at the factory for manufacturing aluminum carpentry and facades Savabien in Indjija, and the trial testing of the equipment and capacity is in the pipeline for the next week. The capacity of this factory significantly exceeds domestic needs, meaning that Savabien will be focused on foreign markets.

Boris Dinic, director general of Savabien, says to our web portal that the factory in Indjija is among the most modern in Europe. The factory spanning 4,300 square meters employs only 10 workers because the production is fully automated.

- The company Savabien was founded in 2006 by Mr. Sava Knezevic, famous Yugoslav businessman and a long-term director of Dijamant. In early 2010, following the selection of technology and equipment, a glass factory was purpose-built in Surcin to process and produce thermal insulation glass, so-called thermopane glass panels. This 5,500 sqm factory features a state-of-the-arts production line made by Austria`s Lisec, which is used to produce ready-made thermal insulation glass. Its capacity is 700 units per eight-hour shift - says Dinic.

Considering that thermopane glass is a semi-finished product, Savabien has decided to complete the production cycle and invest in a factory for manufacturing aluminum joinery: doors, windows, facade elements, interior components, blinds...

- When the decision to commission a new factory was made, we also decided to build it in line with all European standards. This 4,300 sqm factory is characterized by fully automated production, so-called CIM (Computer-Intergrated Manufacturing) concept of production that requires no use of paper. In addition to up-to-date machines and equipment produced by the company Elumatec, the brain of production is the advanced software PrefCIM, as well as Orgadata, and all information flows take place without the use of paper. Project drawings appear on the screens viewed by machine operators, who merely play the roles of supervisors and manipulators, while everything else is done automatically. This will result in huge savings and the highest level of safety and quality of products, as well as in a competitive advantage.

As our interlocutor says, the projected capacity of the factory is 180 units per shift, whereas the capacity that is realistic to achieve is 200 units per shift.

- When we decided to invest in both our factories, we were aware of the fact that the Serbian market offers a limited potential for our growth, and our aim is to export two thirds of the production. We have already established contacts in Western Europe (DACH countries - Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Holland, Portugal, Italy), as well as in Africa (Libya, Morocco, Tunis, Algeria), the Near East (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, United Emirates, Iraq), Russia, former republics of the Soviet Union and countries in the region. So far, we have implemented five projects for a foreign partner, two projects are under implementation, and we are currently negotiating another five new contracts. In this way, Savabien significantly contributes to the growth of net FX inflow and creates a chance for further growth and development - says Dinic.

Production at the factory in Indjija is expected to reach its full capacity in one month.
