The fashion company Mura and its partners plan to soon take over the Serbian textile company Prvi Maj from Pirot, which employs about 1,500 people, the media in Slovenia announced Friday.

Mojca Lukancic and Nigel Bakston, who acquired the former fashion company Mura from Murska Sobota while in bankruptcy, told Dnevnik daily that Mura and its partners had decided to offer to buy Prvi Maj below its starting auction price of EUR 4.1 million.

The media in Serbia used to mention Italian companies Sergio Tachini and Benetton as most likely to buy Prvi Maj.

Lukancic also said that Mura and partners were exclusively interesting in acquiring production facilities, adding that no workers in Slovenia would be dismissed if the acquisition took place.
