Mass bankruptcy for all public companies that are not privatized prior to April 2007

"Privatization of public companies in Serbia will have to be ended by April 2007. All companies that do not get the new owner by then will enter bankruptcy proceedings", said the president of the Board for Privatization of Parliament of Serbia Nikola Novaković.

He pointed out that big number of companies avoided privatization in expectation that the deadline for sale of public assets would be extended.

- If the privatization is disabled in the following months, the mass bankruptcy will follow – Novaković warns.
