Peć's patriarchate, Gračanica monastery and church of Bogorodica Ljeviška to enter Unesco's list of world inheritage on July 16

The application for broadening of list of cultural monuments on the Unesco's list of world inheritage, which was submitted by Serbia for the sake of registration of monasteries of the Peć patriarchate and Gračanica, as well as the church of Bogorodica Ljeviška - along with Dečani monastery, which is on the list since 2004 - was accepted on July 13, 2006, at the meeting of the Unesco Committee for World Inheritage.
According to the words of ambassador of Serbia to Unesco, Dragoljub Najman, the decision will be formally adopted on Sunday (July 16), at the final meeting of the 30th session of the Committee, which is held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
In this way, the list will be broadened and it will now include Dečani monastery, monasteries of the Peć patriarchate and Gračanica, as well as Prizren-based church of Bogorodica Ljeviška. This cultural monuments are also on the Unesco's list of the monuments in danger, which is of the great importance to the future protection of these locations in Kosovo.
