VUCIC: Discussions with IMF and World Bank to start immediately

On Monday, July 23, 2012, the acting leader of the Serbian Progressive Party, Aleksandar Vucic, that new government would "immediately start negotiations with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank". In his announcement to journalists he said we would face a period of difficult overcoming because a budget hole is deep.

According to his words, the first laws will be adopted in the period September 5-10.

- We are expecting big move, significant reforms – Vucic announced, adding that “he is excited to expect, for instance, law on public procurement”.

- We will either change something or give up the government constitution – Vucic said adding that “the objective is not to sit in the chairs because no one is neither born in a chair nor will dye in one”.

The Government, according to his words, will either be uncompromising when it comes to anti-corruption or will cease to exist.

When it comes to arguable privatizations, Vucic said he needed a bit more time to deal with that issue and that it was not only about 24 privatizations mentioned by the European Commission but also about others to be considered.

When he was asked about the destiny of the National Bank of Serbia, Governor Soskic, Vucic underlined that “everything will be done in line with the law and the constitution”.

He pointed out that more than half of people suggested by the Serbian Progressive Party were not the part of government.

As for their resumes, no one would have anything to object, leader of the Serbian Progressive Party is assured.
