Government of Serbia intends to invest 31m EUR in procurement of scientific equipment, ICT technologies and construction of scientific-technological parks within next two years

Minister of Science and Environment Protection, Aleksandar Popović, announced that about 21m EUR would be invested in the scientific equipment within the following two years, whereas 5m EUR would be invested in the information-communication technologies and 5m EUR in construction of science-technological parks.

The purpose of investment, according to his words, is the increase in the capacity of our science-research organization, which should help economy become stronger.

- With this investment, the money we set aside for science will reach 0.6% - said Popović, pointing out that Serbian economy, thanks to the results of Serbian science, saved about 30m EUR in 2005.
