The name Schenker has long stood for high-quality transport and logistics. The confidence of our customers has made us into a company with an international profile that can offer its clients guaranteed reliability and security even in troubled times.

Transport, storage and customs clearance have been the focus of our services since the company was founded on 1 July 1872.

Founder Gottfried Schenker was a pioneer in the transportation business. He was the first to combine small shipments into a unit, a system that revolutionised transportation in Europe. He was inducted posthumously into the Logistics Hall of Fame in 2010 in recognition of his life’s work and the invention of groupage transport.

In the late nineteenth century Schenker was the only company offering certain tariffs for shipments across Europe. The principle of “door-to-door from a single source” remains valid even today and on that basis the company was able to expand rapidly to form a network of branches. While Gottfried Schenker was still alive there were already thirty-two branches in thirteen European countries. Realizing the importance of this region, Schenker founded its branch in Serbia, to be more precise in Belgrade, in 1890, which operated successfully until 1937. Renewal was in 2002.

Today the company, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, has 95,000 employees offering transport and logistics services at some 2,000 locations.

It is the number one in road transport in Europe, serving all European destinations. It also has the largest rail freight network in Europe, and in air and sea freight customers worldwide.

Schenker Serbia contributes in this global company picture of success. In focus on Serbian market are more then 3.000 customers. Thanks to its the know-how, financial solidity and customised IT solutions, DB Schenker improves the logistical efficiency of companies worldwide and in Serbia.
