Sports high school in Belgrade to become German school

The German-Serbian commercial association in Belgrade has announced today that by spring 2013 the German school will move to the offices of the ex Sports High School in Topcider.

The German school became an important factor for Serbia:German companies often invest abroad in case there are convenient opportunities for the education of their children and their staff. Thanks to new German school in Belgrade, both Serbia and Belgrade will have the opportunity to demonstrate even greater influence on a foreign companies decision to invest here.

The German school in Belgrade, the only one in Serbia, has existed for 157 years. Many associates of the companies for the German-speaking areas have been sending their children to this school for a long time. In the last couple of years, Serbian families train their children in that school.

- New building should provide appropriate framework for the upcoming generations. But, it is necessary to carry out extensive construction works so that the school could operate successfully – as said in the statement.

The German-Serbian Commercial Association made an appeal to its members to support the facility reconstruction because they consider it to be of strategic importance and that it is worth support of the German business community in Serbia.

- We think the school needs our support because we also have interest in providing attractive schooling and education prospects both for our associates’ families and the Serbian public. It will also benefit Serbia to become even more attractive business spot - as said in the statement.
