World funds want to invest in Podravka

The Croatian President, Ivo Josipovic, upon his visit to Podravka on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, said he “believed in Koprivnica-based plant as the national company which could be a successful company they can be proud of both today and tomorrow when Croatia enters the European Union".

- There are other similar companies but Podravka is especially sensitive because it is domestic and secondly, because it deals with strategic resources, i.e. food – Jospiovic said to journalists after meeting company representatives.

Josipovic said he met serious investors who were saying they do not want to buy Podravka but they want to invest into its product ranges development.

- I cannot speak about the names but I can say they are representatives of some of big funds operating in Europe, America and Asia. They do not buy companies but consider where to invest funds, i.e. invest it into some projects. Podravka is not the only company they are interested in but is one of the most important that was mentioned –Josipović said.
