Magna Seating builds factory in Odzaci - Agreement signed to alienate building land for free

The municipality of Odzaci allotted Wednesday (27 June 2012) a building land to the Czech company Magna Seating Chomutov for free to build a factory for producing components for the automotive industry, the Provincial Information Secretariat announced.

An allotment agreement was signed between Odzaci Mayor Predrag Cvetanovic and Magna Seating Chomutov CEO Libor Chytri.

The company from Czech Republic is part of the multinational company Magna International, global leader in the automotive industry that has over 104,000 employees at 269 production facilities and 84 development, engineering and retail centers on five continents. The factory in Odzaci will be producing covers and structures for car seats.

Bojan Pajtic stressed that Magna's investment was very significant, primarily for the fact that no investment had been made in the municipality of Odzaci for years, as well as because it would create a minimum of 450 new jobs in that municipality over the next three years.

- With the opening of this factory, the number of employees will grow 17 percent within the next three years, and this data alone shows how important is to implement this investment. At the same time, the arrival of such big and demanding company also sends out a signal to other companies to come to this territory because they can make a profit here and operate successfully. We as the provincial government will invest in this zone in Odzaci in accordance with our program for other areas in Vojvodina as well. We will invest in plumbing, sewerage and electrical grid and create conditions to attract new large investments in the municipality of Odzaci.

After signing the agreement, Pajtic and signatories to that document visited the building site of the new factory in the industrial zone Odzaci.

Magna Seating Chomutov was founded in 1999 and is engaged in the design, development and production of technologically advanced automobile systems, structures and components and the assembly of cars and light trucks.
