JANKOVIĆ: Capital of "Partizanski put" went to Tanzania, Uganda, Russia and western Europe

Former president of the Commission for examining of operations of building company "Partizanski put" in restructuring, Miodrag Janković, said that that company had had big businesses in Africa and that "the money is hidden in the foreign currency obligations and operations".

He pointed out that "Partizanski put" was in the restructuring process since 2003 and that it had been among 75 companies that should have been sold on tenders in 2001. Jankovich said that the company had not been privatized because, in the time of economic chaos, in the 1990's, "the great capital was sucked and assets of the company brought" abroad, to Tanzania and Uganda, where large share of the operative units were located, to Russian and western Europe.

Association of workers and retired persons started new initiative for re-examining of the operations, especially units abroad, and asked for new estimate of the capital of the company, i.e. registration of stocks of workers and retired persons on the basis of the remaining capital.

The account of the company is blocked for three years already. Company "Pull System" is now settled in the former premises of "Partizanski put", whereas most of the workers of once one of the biggest Serbian civil-engineering companies got fired.

Prior to July 15, 2006, when the deadline for purchase of the dossier expires, the company should be sold on the tender, although, as Janković says, nobody found out what happened with the company's capital that was "lost somewhere abroad".
