Big Ben Tower changes its name

Britain's famous Big Ben tower, will be given the name "Elizabeth Tower" in honor of the queen's diamond jubilee. Celebration of 60 years of governance was first introduced by Queen Victoria in 1897, when they had also changed the names of some of London's sights in her honor.

The tower was first known as the Clock Tower, but was named Big Ben after it was added another large bell that marks each hour. This name will be retained in colloquial use, but the official name will from now on be "Queen Elizabeth".

The Big Ben was a recent topic of British media because of its inclination which has slightly increased since 2003, but experts believe that such changes should not harm it in the next 10,000 years.

Otherwise, the UK is having a four day celebration starting from June,2 as Jubilee in honor of Elizabeth II, which will include a parade with as much as 1,000 boats on the Thames, and a grand concert at where famous stars will sing.
