The agreement concerns the property located at 136 Hajduk Veljkova Street and was signed by the Mayor of Zajecar, Vladimir Videnovic, and Jelena Vukasovic on behalf of the public enterprise Jugoimport SDPR.
It was previously announced that Jugoimport SDPR would begin by hiring an initial 50 workers, with the number of employees expected to exceed 100 within the next three months. Plans for the facility include the assembly of the domestically produced “Lazar” 3 8×8 armored combat vehicles.
Zajecar Mayor Vladimir Videnovic emphasized that reactivating a space that had remained unused for years was significant for the city's continued economic development.
These planned activities are part of a broader initiative to expand and enhance the production and service capabilities of Jugoimport SDPR, as well as to further the development of Serbia's defense industry.
The implementation of this project is expected to strengthen Zajecar's industrial capacity and create employment opportunities for individuals across various professions and qualification levels.
