US Cooper Standard to open factory for producing car parts in Serbia - Jobs for 300 people

One of the world's largest automotive suppliers, U.S. Cooper Standard, plans to expand its presence to Serbia as well, the Office of Sremska Mitrovica Mayor Branislav Nedimovic announced.

After having a meeting with Cooper Standard Country Manager for Poland and Romania Petar Gask, Nedimovic stated Monday that the company was still seeking a location that would meet all expectations regarding production, geographic position and technical capacities, adding that Sremska Mitrovica was one of possible candidates.

- We are sure that the city can meet Cooper's expectations. Operations in Serbia will enable my company to grow and become more competitive in Europe - said Gask.

Cooper plans to rent a factory spanning 7,000 square meters and hire about 300 workers. There is also a possibility of that company expanding its production later.
