Circular economy: Ecomondo takes centre stage

From 3 to 6 November at the Rimini Expo Centre, Italy, the event organised by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) will bring together technologies, companies and key players driving the ecological transition

Key players in the circular economy will find their ideal meeting place at the 29th edition of Ecomondo, the international event organised by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), taking place from 3 to 6 November at the Rimini Expo Centre, Italy.

Confirming its role as The Global Stage for the Circular Economy, the event has become one of Europe's leading platforms for fostering new industrial partnerships and accelerating the adoption of the most advanced solutions available on the market.

At the heart of the exhibition is the Waste as Resource sector, providing a comprehensive overview of technologies for waste collection, sorting, treatment and recovery.

From mechanical recycling solutions to emerging technologies, the sector also showcases automation, artificial intelligence, robotics and digital systems for material traceability.

It brings together companies and industry professionals committed to improving the quality of secondary raw materials and increasing the efficiency of industrial processes.

Ecomondo’s vision extends well beyond plastics recycling by offering an integrated approach to the main circular economy value chains.

The Water Cycle & Blue Economy sector, including the Blue Economy and Trenchless districts, is dedicated to technologies for the sustainable management of the entire water cycle, covering treatment, purification, reuse, network digitalisation and water resilience.

The new Textile sector, making its debut with an entire exhibition hall, will also receive significant attention.

The exhibition offering is completed by dedicated areas focusing on bioenergy, the bioeconomy, remediation technologies, contaminated site management and environmental monitoring.

The Circular & Healthy City District will showcase solutions for healthy and circular cities, while the Innovation District will once again host start-ups, innovative SMEs and a dedicated initiative on green jobs.

A dedicated focus on the paper industry will also be featured.

An international outlook

The extensive conference programme, developed by Ecomondo's International Technical Scientific Committee, will provide an opportunity to discuss the main European regulatory dossiers shaping the future of the circular economy, including the Circular Economy Act, the Bioeconomy Strategy, the Biotech Act II, the Pact for the Mediterranean, the RESourceEU Action Plan, the Critical Raw Materials Act and the new provisions on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

Within the framework of Ecomondo's continued commitment to international cooperation and to strengthening partnerships with the Mediterranean region and Africa, other key topics will include healthy and circular cities, artificial intelligence and new digital technologies supporting the ecological transition, as well as the bioeconomy and bioenergy.

Ecomondo's international profile is further reinforced by the growing presence of specialised communities active across the ecological transition sectors, together with an increasing number of buyers, delegations and trade associations from every continent, thanks to the collaboration with MAECI – the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – and ICE – the Italian Trade Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalisation of Italian companies.
