Modern campsite being raised by the Tamis – Site preparation begins at former Secanj landfill

An area in Secanj that had long been neglected and used as an illegal landfill is being transformed into a future multifunctional site.

After more than five years of detailed planning, the preparation of comprehensive project documentation, and the acquisition of building permits, on-site work has commenced. Replacing the unsightly scene and waste, a modern campsite is being built here, and the first phase focuses on site landscaping and the construction of the transport infrastructure that will form its foundation.

The initial phase of the project is supported by funding from the Provincial Government and the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism, totaling 30 million dinars. This phase encompasses earthworks, site clearing, leveling, and preparation of the 4,311-square-meter plot next to the Tamis river embankment, roadbed construction, the building of a circular access road over 210 meters long, drainage and landscaping and the installation of perimeter fencing.

This project represents a key step within the broader infrastructure initiative “Construction of the Tourist Sports and Recreational Zone of the Municipality of Secanj”.
