Inflation expectations for financial sector for year ahead remain unchanged

According to the results of the Ninamedia agency’s August survey, financial sector inflation expectations for the year ahead remained at the same level of 3.5%, continuing to move within the National Bank of Serbia’s target range. Medium-term inflation expectations from the financial sector also remained unchanged compared to the July survey, standing at the 3% midpoint of the National Bank of Serbia’s target, the NBS announced.


According to the results of the Bloomberg agency’s September survey, short-term inflation expectations in the financial sector fell to 3.8% from 3.9% in August, representing the average level observed since the beginning of the year.

– According to the Ninamedia agency’s August survey, short-term inflation expectations among business representatives remained at the same level for the fifth consecutive month at 5%, while medium-term expectations decreased from 5% in July to 4.4% for the two-year horizon and 4.7% for the three-year horizon, continuing to move within the 4% to 5% range over the past year – the NBS noted.

Short-term and medium-term inflation expectations among the general public stood at 10% in the August survey, remaining unchanged from the previous month.
