Russia gives green light to space cooperation agreement with Serbia

The Russian government has approved a draft agreement with Serbia on cooperation in the exploration and use of space for peaceful purposes, the official website of the Federal Assembly of Russia announced.

The document envisages cooperation between the two countries in various areas related to space, including space exploration, space medicine, remote sensing of the Earth, satellite systems, space meteorology and other areas, RIA Novosti reports.


The two sides plan to create the necessary conditions for the launch and operation of spacecraft, the implementation of joint scientific projects, as well as for the exchange of technologies, knowledge and material resources.

The agreement is signed for a period of 10 years, with the possibility of automatic extension for periods of five years. As stated, the state corporation Roscosmos has been designated as the competent contractor on the Russian side.

According to the official newspaper of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Parlamentskaya Gazeta, Moscow and Belgrade signed an economic cooperation program for the period from 2026 to 2031 in April.
