Inflation in Serbia will remain within the target of 3% in the coming period, with a deviation of plus or minus 1.5%, said the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Jorgovanka Tabakovic.

At the presentation of the inflation report, she stated that there were no significant price shocks due to the energy crisis and that inflation fell to 1.9% in July, largely due to a drop in fruit and vegetable prices.

She pointed out that, due to the growth in economic activity in the second quarter of this year, the NBS had revised its gross domestic product growth projection upwards.

– The new projection is that this year’s GDP growth will be 3.2% – said Tabakovic.

In its May inflation report, the NBS forecast that GDP growth in 2026 would be three percent instead of the planned 3.5%.
