Privatization of three more banks in Serbia prior to end of Summer 2006 - Vojvođanska, Panonska and Credy banka

Minister of Finance of Serbia, Mlađan Dinkić, said that the privatization of three more banks, Vojvođanska, Panonska and Credy banka, would be completed by the end of Summer 2006.

According to his words, the deadline for delivery of bids for Vojvođanska banka expires at the end of this week, whereas the submittal of offers for Credy bank from Kragujevac and Panonska banka from Novi Sad will enter final phase by the end of June 2006.

Dinkić estimated that the banking sector was the strongest economic sector in Serbia and he added that the savings of the citizens of Serbia had already reached amount of 2.5 billion EUR, while credit portfolio amounted to 6 billion EUR.
