Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamocic announced a change in the system of incentives in agriculture, as the first goal within the Strategy of Agriculture and Rural Development for the period 2026-2034, which was adopted last week.

– The next phase of agricultural policy must be more focused on investments, processing, technology and added value. We are not talking about reducing support for agriculture. We are talking about the fact that every dinar of support must produce a greater effect – Glamocic told the Politika daily.

He added that the strategy envisaged a reform of the incentive system, stronger investment support, modernization of production and processing and digitalization, and more.

– Among other things, an irrigation and drainage program, modernization of green markets and formation of producer organizations are envisaged. And also institutional solutions such as a food ombudsman – said the minister.
