The owner of Chromos, the Japanese company Kansai Helios, has decided to cease production in Zagreb after more than a century, the portal Indeks.hr reported.
Only the sales network will remain in Zagreb, it is reported.
Let us remind that, in June, the Kansai Helios group announced that it would begin the gradual relocation of production activities from Chromos boje i lakovi to production locations in Slovenia and Serbia, and that it would gradually shut down production at the Zagreb location in the coming years.
As said in the Kansai Helios statement at the time, this is a strategic reorganization of the production network in the Adriatic region, with the aim of establishing a more focused, efficient and long-term sustainable organizational structure. This decision, they indicated, was made after the Group’s continued growth in the region increased the complexity of the production network and reduced operational flexibility, which led them to align production, technology, and research and development within the network.
The relocation of production, it was indicated at the time, would take place in several phases over the coming years.
