Municipality of Pećinci makes its local development strategy through partnership with Municipality of Maribor

Municipality of Pećinci is just about to start the implementation of project ``Design of the local economic development strategy of Municipality of Pećinci``, in order to secure the conditions for quicker development of the municipality through preparation of short-term and long-term economic development strategy, as well as to exactly define its comparative advantages.

The project is financed by EU through European Agency for Reconstruction EAR. The partner of Municipality of Pećinci in the realization and making of the Strategy will be Municipality of Maribor. The strategy will be designed in accordance with EU standards and methodology in field of local economic planning.

The experts from Maribor, led by Ms Karin Jurše, will be guests of Municipality of Pećinci on three occasions and, through consulting, analysing and mutual work, they will help the task forces and the Municipal Development Commission to make the final document of the Strategy.

The project will last 10 months and its total value is 85,695 €.

Cooperation between Maribor and Pećinci commenced on the initiative of Dmitar Polovina, the manager of the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia in Belgrade, and the deputy of the Slovenian Business Club Belgrade. The Mayor of the Municipality, Nikola Pavković, gave full support to this cooperation, which resulted in the cooperation on the design of the Municipal capital document.
