National Bank of Greece to enter insurance sector in Serbia

Manager of International Operations of the National Bank of Greece (NBG), Agis Leopoulos, announced that that bank would soon start to operate in the field of insurance in Serbia.

- At the moment, we are doing the research of the insurance market in Serbia - said him, but he could not state precisely if that company would take part in the privatization of already existing Serbian insurance companies or it would found the new ones.

Leopulos said that NBG, which exists in Serbia since 2002, planned to approve more credits to the economy and to broaden the scope of operations with the companies, since the bank's share in the retail operations in Serbia was more than 7%.
