ElevenEs Founder Nemanja Mikac Dies - Visionary Who Put Serbia on the Global Map

The news of the death of Nemanja Mikac, founder and CEO of ElevenEs, has deeply shaken business circles in Serbia and across Europe.

Mikac succumbed to injuries sustained in a parachuting accident and died at the age of just 39.

In addition to ElevenEs, he was also the founder and co-owner of Al Pack, another Subotica-based company.

Innovator Focused on LFP Technology

Mikac was more than an entrepreneur; he was a visionary who believed that Subotica and Serbia could become a center of Europe's electric vehicle battery industry.

Nemanja Mikac became widely known as the leader of ElevenEs, which developed one of the most advanced lithium-ion battery plants in this part of the world in Subotica.

His work focused on LFP (lithium iron phosphate) technology, which he proudly described as "the new diesel made in Serbia."

Mikac frequently emphasized that LFP technology would be crucial to the future of transportation and energy storage over the next 10 to 15 years.

A Vision for Europe's Technological Independence

His strategic vision was to bring this technology, which had previously been almost exclusively associated with China, to Europe and turn Serbia into a technology hub.

- We have an opportunity to effectively bring this technology to Europe and create a center for the technological development of half of the car, bus and truck market - Mikac told Blic Biznis.

Under his leadership, ElevenEs attracted the attention of global heavy-industry leaders.

The culmination of his success was an investment by US giant Caterpillar, which recognized the quality of the company's locally developed LFP Edge technology.

For Mikac, this was not merely a financial boost but compelling validation that Serbian engineers had the capacity to produce world-class batteries.

Advocate of a "Green Serbia"

As a frequent participant in professional forums such as the "Look Up" conference organized by Blic Biznis, Nemanja advocated for Serbia to develop the entire value chain – from raw materials such as lithium and nickel to finished electric vehicles.

He believed that vertically integrating production in the heart of Europe was the only way to ensure security of supply and energy sustainability.

In Subotica, he laid the foundations for a 1 GWh factory that will employ more than 350 "engineers of the future."

His factory was designed to use stable materials free of nickel and cobalt, with a minimal carbon footprint, setting high environmental standards for the industry.

He will be remembered as a man who believed in domestic expertise and innovation and demonstrated that Serbia could compete on equal terms in the global race for green energy.
