The idea of building roundabouts on major, high-traffic roads in the capital has clearly not been abandoned, judging by the latest announcements from the Old Palace regarding transport and infrastructure projects planned for implementation during the coming autumn and winter.

One of the projects that has attracted the most attention is the construction of as many as eight new roundabouts from Pupin Bridge in Zemun to Vojvodjanska Street in New Belgrade. One will be built immediately after Pupin Bridge, followed by others at the intersections with Ugrinovacka Street, the motorway to Novi Sad, Milana Resetara Street, Megarska Street, Marka Celebonovica Street, Surcinska Street and finally Vojvodjanska Street. As announced by Belgrade Mayor Aleksandar Sapic, this will form "a kind of new inner arterial semi-ring road".

Another roundabout that attracted attention following the announcement of its upcoming construction is the one planned at Autokomanda, at the junction of Juzni Bulevar and Ustanicka Street. This is one of the locations where traffic congestion occurs particularly during the morning rush hour and where, in addition to automobile traffic, several public transport lines intersect. At Autokomanda, another planned roundabout will be built at the junction of Bulevar Franse D'Eperea and Bulevar Oslobodjenja.

Two roundabouts are also planned on Omladinskih Brigada Street in New Belgrade.

One will be at the intersection with Bulevar Heroja sa Kosara and the next at the intersection with Bulevar Milutina Milankovica.
