The new tranche will bring the current level of IMF disbursements to Kyiv to USD 2.2 billion (EUR 1.9 billion), out of a total financing agreement worth USD 8.1 billion (EUR 7.1 billion).
This follows a review of the program, which requires Ukraine to maintain its economic stability and implement several reforms, particularly in the areas of corruption, taxation and currency policy.
"Ukraine has maintained macroeconomic and financial stability despite Russia's ongoing war, a more challenging external environment and exceptionally high remaining risks," the IMF said in a statement, adding that the program's performance to date has been "broadly satisfactory."
