CLS: EUR 24 million Kalenic Market reconstruction the most expensive in history

The Center for Local Government (CLS) announced that RSD 2.83 billion, or EUR 24 million, will be spent on the reconstruction of Kalenic Market, "making Belgrade the holder of yet another infamous record - the most expensive reconstruction of a municipal market."

- There was only one bidder in the tender that has just been completed, who offered a price almost identical to the estimated value of the works. It is a consortium led by Jadran d.o.o., a company that has been a favorite of the current city authorities for several years - CLS Director Nikola Jovanovic said in a written statement.

He pointed out that the "White Book" is gaining new chapters, referring, as stated, to a CLS document on crime and corruption in Belgrade.
