MMB is part of China's Minth Group, which manufactures automotive parts, and this investment will be Minth's fourth in Sabac. As previously announced, the new facility will produce decorative trim and seals made of aluminum or stainless steel and plastic pellets. The factory's planned annual capacity for 2033 is 36 million decorative trim pieces and 136 million sealing components.
The new factory will be located in the Sever industrial zone in Sabac, on a 100,000 m2 plot (Cadastral Parcel 2780/31, Cadastral Municipality Majur), in the immediate vicinity of Minth's existing facilities. Plans include the construction of a production facility with an administrative section, as well as a transformer station, truck scale, raw material warehouse, equipment platform, pumping facility and utility bridge. As previously indicated, the construction of 18 buildings is planned, including two production halls, while the remaining 16 will be auxiliary and supporting facilities. The total gross ground-floor area of all buildings will amount to 41,205.89 m2.
The first facility, for the production of aluminum automotive parts, was built by Minth United AlloyTeck Europe in 2022. The following year, construction began on Minth's second factory, an aluminum processing smelter operated by Minal Europe Green Material, followed by a third factory, developed by Minth Automotive Europe, for the production of battery housings for electric vehicles.
Sabac Mayor Aleksandar Pajic announced as early as the beginning of 2023 that construction of the fourth factory, Minth Metal Parts Balkan, would begin by the end of that year.
