Short-term inflation expectations in Serbia's financial sector decline to 3.6%

Short-term inflation expectations in Serbia's financial sector, according to the latest Ninamedia survey, declined from 4% in May to 3.6% in June, remaining within the target range of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), the central bank announced. Medium-term inflation expectations were almost unchanged compared to the previous month, with respondents expecting inflation of 3.5% two years ahead and 3% three years ahead.


According to Bloomberg's July survey, the financial sector's inflation expectations for one year ahead remained unchanged from June at 4%.

Short-term and medium-term inflation expectations among businesses, based on the Ninamedia survey, remained unchanged for the third consecutive month. In the June survey, both stood at 5%, continuing to fluctuate within the 4%–5% range over the past year.

One-year-ahead inflation expectations among households declined from 15% in May to 10% in June, marking the lowest level since June 2024. Medium-term household inflation expectations, for both two and three years ahead, remained unchanged at 10% in the June survey.
