The tender includes the preparation of a geodetic survey, conceptual design, urban development project, as well as presentation materials and a 3D animation of the proposed redevelopment.
The project area extends from the tip of the flood embankment near the Old Railway Bridge upstream to Dr. Agostina Neta Street, covering a strip approximately three kilometers long and between 35 and 150 meters wide. The scope includes both land and water areas, with integrated urban planning, hydraulic engineering, landscape architecture, and infrastructure solutions.
According to the project brief, the future design should provide a continuous pedestrian and cycling route along the Sava River, new public squares and plazas, viewpoints, landscaped green areas, urban furniture, and small hospitality and service facilities. The project also envisages pontoons, pedestrian walkways, and other river infrastructure elements that will strengthen the connection between the waterfront and the river itself.
Designers will be required to incorporate measures for the protection of the habitat of the strictly protected pygmy cormorant (Microcarbo pygmaeus), preserve existing high-quality vegetation, and ensure that the redevelopment has minimal impact on the surrounding ecosystem. At the same time, the plans will consider the creation of viewpoints and educational stations that will allow visitors to explore the natural values of the riverbank without disturbing wildlife habitats.
The deadline for completing the full project documentation is no more than 120 days, while bids may be submitted until July 31.
