Metal Investments Europe building production complex in Sabac – Aluminum wire factory to have capacity of up to 54,000 tons per year

The company Metal Investments Europe d.o.o. from Belgrade has submitted to the Ministry of Environmental Protection a request for approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the project to build a production complex for the production of aluminum wire with accompanying facilities and infrastructure in the Majur settlement near Sabac.

The planned complex will be built on cadastral plot 2780/28 KO Majur, for which location conditions have already been issued. The designer is the company SET d.o.o. Sabac.

The central building of the complex will be a production hall with an administrative part, with a gross area of 5,613.94 m2, while the investment also includes a reception hall, a weighing house and an underground water tank. The total gross area of all facilities is 5,785.20 m2.

In addition to the facilities, the project also includes a diesel-electric generator, a gas metering and regulation station, a vehicle scale, internal roads and supporting utility infrastructure.

According to the study, the production process includes aluminum melting, melt processing, continuous casting, rolling, mechanical processing and final product packaging. The technology is intended primarily for the production of high-purity aluminum wire (more than 99.7% aluminum) for electrical conductors, with the possibility of producing alloys from the 1000, 6000 and 8000 series.

The designed maximum capacity of the plant is 7.5 tons per hour, while the estimated annual production capacity, when operating in three shifts for 300 days a year, is up to 54,000 tons of aluminum wire.

The planned CCR continuous casting and rolling line will enable the production of multiple types of aluminum wire for power and industrial applications, including EC 1350 and 1370 alloys, as well as 6000 and 8000 series alloys.

As a reminder, the owner of Metal Investments Europe, Mile Sekanic, purchased the Zlatar Spa Complex in 2021 for EUR 2.5 million.

The company was initially registered for non-specialized wholesale trade, but then changed its activity to metal production.
