Kansai Helios Group leaving Croatia – Moving production to Serbia and Slovenia

The owner of Chromos boje i lakovi, Kansai Helios Group, has announced that it will begin the gradual relocation of production activities from Chromos boje i lakovi to production locations in Slovenia and Serbia, as well as that it will gradually shut down production at the Zagreb location in the coming years, reports Seebiz.eu.

According to the Kansai Helios statement, this is a strategic reorganization of the production network in the Adriatic region, with the aim of establishing a more focused, efficient and long-term sustainable organizational structure. This decision, as they pointed out, was made after the Group’s continuous business growth in the region increased the complexity of the production network and reduced operational flexibility, which is why they began to harmonize production, technology and research and development within the network.

– The production activities currently taking place at Chromos boje i lakovi in Zagreb will be gradually relocated to Kansai Helios’ existing production sites in Slovenia and Serbia, which will result in the gradual cessation of production at the Zagreb location – Kansai Helios said in a statement.

For Kansai Helios, it is added, the Croatian market remains of strategic importance and will continue to supply it as a specialized trading company offering a complete portfolio of its own products.

The relocation of production will take place in several phases over the coming years.

– Kansai Helios acknowledges that this reorganization has a concrete and direct impact on employees in Zagreb and recognizes the uncertainty it may cause. Fully respecting the loyalty and expertise of its employees in Croatia, the Group is strongly committed to managing this transition responsibly, carefully and transparently – they emphasize.

As they pointed out, “all measures will be implemented in full compliance with applicable local labor and legal regulations and will be accompanied by individual discussions with affected employees,” who were informed about the process of relocating production at an early stage.

– It is important to understand that the decision to gradually cease production in Zagreb is not a consequence of the previous performance or commitment of the teams at Chromos. It stems from a comprehensive assessment of the Group’s production network – emphasized Goran Dolenec, Director of Chromos boje i lakovi and Kansai Helios Croatia.
