Direct flights, investments and trade strengthening cooperation between Montenegro and Kazakhstan

Montenegro and Kazakhstan have significant room to transform their existing friendship into a long-term partnership, especially through strengthening investments, trade, tourism, transport connections, energy, agriculture and digital technologies, assessed Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic.

As part of his official visit to Kazakhstan, he met with Kazakh Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov in Astana.

They assessed that the first official visit of the President of Montenegro to Kazakhstan represented an important moment for relations between the two countries and an opportunity to direct friendly relations, based on mutual respect and without open issues, towards more concrete economic, investment and institutional cooperation.

– Montenegro and Kazakhstan have friendly relations. Now it is important to turn them into concrete projects, new investments, better connectivity and cooperation that benefits the citizens and economies of both countries – said Milatovic.

Special importance was given to the Montenegro-Kazakhstan Business Forum, which brings together representatives of institutions and business communities of the two countries, with the aim of establishing direct contacts and identifying new opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting also discussed strengthening tourism cooperation, taking into account direct flights between the two countries and the growing interest of Kazakh tourists in Montenegro. They also pointed to the potential for cooperation in digital transformation, innovation and artificial intelligence, as well as in the areas of energy and public administration.

Additional impetus to relations is provided by memorandums of cooperation between national tourism organizations, chambers of commerce of the two countries, as well as RTCG and the media complex of the President of Kazakhstan, which represent an important step towards stronger institutional and economic ties.

– The official visit of the President of Montenegro to Kazakhstan opens a new phase in the relations between the two countries, from traditional friendship to a concrete, substantive and long-term partnership – the statement concludes.
