Breza Health Center building new Emergency Medical Service facility worth more than EUR 300,000

The public institution Breza Health Center has announced a tender for the selection of a contractor for the construction of a new Emergency Medical Service facility with accompanying facilities, for which the estimated value of the works is BAM 600,000 excluding VAT.

Bids can be submitted until July 8, 2026, by 9 am, while the public opening is scheduled for the same day at 9:15 am. The contractor will have a maximum of 120 calendar days from the date of introduction to work to complete the works, while a warranty period of two years from the technical acceptance of the facility is foreseen.

The new facility will be built in the courtyard of the central building of the Breza Health Center, on a plot marked as cadastral plot 594 at 12 Sehidska Street. The project was developed based on the adopted preliminary design, and the main project was developed by the Public Enterprise for Spatial Planning and Development of the City of Zenica.

According to the technical documentation, the construction of a building with a semi-basement, ground floor and first floor (SB+GF+1), with total dimensions of 22.60 x 22.60 meters, is planned. The net usable area of the building is 482.25 square meters, while the gross construction area is 556.19 square meters.

The building will be functionally connected to the existing Health Center by a so-called heated corridor, and its purpose includes the provision of emergency medical services and the work of the Physiatry Service.

The part intended for the Emergency Department is organized over two floors. The ground floor will house an entrance hall, a waiting room with a file cabinet, two doctor’s offices, three intervention rooms, an emergency room, a sanitary block and a staircase. The first floor will house the offices of the director, assistant director, lawyer and secretary, accounting, a meeting room, an archive, rooms for the doctor on duty and the driver, as well as supporting facilities for staff.

A separate part of the facility will house the Physiatry Service with its own entrance, waiting room, doctor’s office, physiotherapy room and sanitary facilities.

The designers state that the offices are planned along the facade walls to ensure natural lighting and ventilation, while communications within the facility are dimensioned in accordance with current standards for healthcare institutions, enabling the unhindered movement of patients and medical staff.

With the implementation of this project, the Breza Health Center should receive a more modern and functional space for providing emergency medical care, as well as better working conditions for the physiatry service and administrative staff.
