Prices of roaming soon to become the same in all EU countries

Six European mobile telephony operators have recently agreed to lower the prices of roaming in order to forestall strick regulations that will be, maybe, passed by European Commission in an effort to deal with the problem of unequal prices of that service in EU countries.
According to the words of Vivian Riding, the commissioner for information society of European Union, the expenses of European mobile phone users must be eliminated as soon as possible.
- European Union is the union of countries with unique currency and laws, so that the users are interested in passing unique tariff. When they are crossing the existing borders between the EU countries, the users want to use their mobile phones without thinking about the prices of roaming - says Riding.
Companies "T-Mobile" (Germany), "Orange SA" (France), "Wind" (Italy), "Telecom Italia" (Italy), "Telenor ASA" (Norway) and "TeliaSonera AB" (Finland) agreed to lower the prices of expenses their users pay when using roaming. Since October 2006, the users will be paying 0.45 EUR when they use the network of some other operator, whereas, in 2007, that fee will be reduced to 0.36 EUR.
Similar initiatives were separately announced by companies "Vodafone Group PLC" and "3 Group", but there are also companies that are against such idea, such as Spanish operator "Telefonica Moviles SA".
