Kafeterija Magazin 1907, located in the famous Kralja Petra Street in Belgrade, at no. 16, has been included in the prestigious Monocle list of the 25 most influential coffee businesses in the world, taking a high 8th place among the brands shaping the global coffee scene.

This international recognition represents an important moment not only for Kafeterija, but also for Serbia, domestic entrepreneurship, design, hospitality and contemporary coffee culture. In a global industry where thousands of coffee brands, specialized roasters and conceptual venues compete daily, one Serbian brand has managed to stand out as an example of authentic vision, strong identity and serious business potential.

Monocle, one of the world’s most respected magazines when it comes to business, culture, design and urban life, presented a list of brands that are breaking new boundaries in the world of coffee in its June 2026 issue. Among them, alongside names from Great Britain, Switzerland, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Australia and other countries, is Kafeterija Magazin 1907 from Belgrade.

In the text, Monocle describes Kafeterija Magazin 1907 as a space that is more of a cathedral than a café, highlighting its multi-story interior, impressive colonnades, authentic ambience and carefully developed coffee concept. Particular emphasis is also placed on the in-house roasted coffee from different parts of the world, including Cuba, Tanzania and Indonesia, as well as the fact that the size and character of this flagship space reflect the ambitions of the Kafeterija’s founders, Zoran Stanojevic and Marko Vukomanovic.

Since its founding in 2014, Kafeterija has grown from a local idea into one of the most recognizable regional brands. Today, it has more than 60 carefully designed locations across Serbia and Montenegro, and Monocle particularly highlights its ambition to further expand into the markets of Southeast Europe, including Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary.

What makes this recognition particularly significant is the fact that Kafeterija is not presented as just another successful coffee shop chain, but as a brand that shows how a local idea, when driven by a clear vision, quality and a strong sense of space, experience and community, can become relevant on a global level.

For the domestic audience, this is news that goes beyond the boundaries of the hospitality industry. This is confirmation that brands can emerge from Serbia that not only follow global standards, but have the strength to shape them equally. With this recognition, Kafeterija has become part of the global map of coffee culture, but also an example of how local identity can be transformed into an internationally recognized value.

Kafeterija Magazin 1907, located in one of the most recognizable spaces in Belgrade, is today not just a place for coffee. It is a space for encounters, design, the rhythm of the city and a modern way of life. It is precisely this combination of architecture, atmosphere, quality and brand experience that has made Belgrade, through Kafeterija, gain its place among the most important coffee destinations in the world.
