As announced by the Government of Serbia, the signing of the joint statement concluded negotiations on the conclusion of a free trade agreement, which will improve the framework for bilateral economic relations, creating favorable conditions for business communities and investors from both countries and a platform for cooperation through various mechanisms.
Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut emphasized that this would encourage continued dialogue and deepening of the economic partnership between Serbia and the Republic of Korea. The Prime Minister stated that the visit of a Minister of Trade of the Republic of Korea had been realized for the first time since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1989, and that the launch of negotiations and the conclusion of a free trade agreement had been initiated in November 2022 during the meeting of the Prime Ministers of the two countries.
The Prime Minister announced that the signing of the agreement was planned for the coming period, once both sides had completed the preparatory procedures.
