Serbian giant conquering Africa – FPM Agromehanika to open factory in Zambia

One of the leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery in Southeast Europe, the company FPM Agromehanika from Boljevac, is starting a major business venture on the African continent.

A plant for the assembly of modern agricultural machinery will be opened in the capital of Zambia, Lusaka, which represents the first direct investment of this company in southern Africa.

The official details of this project were revealed to the public by the Ministry of Defense of Zambia, after an official meeting between the Secretary of State of that ministry, Maambo Haamaundu, and the President of the company FPM Agromehanika, Ljubinko Gobeljic.

Machines for the entire region of Southern Africa

The founder and head of the Boljevac factory, Ljubinko Gobeljic, emphasized during the meeting in Lusaka that the company exported its products to 65 countries around the world, but that opening a plant in Zambia was a strategic step for positioning in a new, fast-growing market.

– The plant in Lusaka will not only serve to assemble machinery intended for domestic farmers in Zambia. Our long-term plan is to market and export high-quality agricultural attachments from this factory to all neighboring countries in the region – said Gobeljic.

In addition to marketing machinery, the Serbian manufacturer’s mission will also be focused on education. The plan is to build the capacities of local Zambian farmers through the operation of the new facility, who will be able to significantly increase their yields and productivity with modern equipment.

State support and modernization of Zambian agriculture

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Maambo Haamaundu, officially welcomed the launch of production and emphasized that the modernization of the agricultural sector was one of the key priorities of their country. According to him, the arrival of technology from Boljevac brings direct benefits to the local economy and creates new jobs. A direct support and distribution center has already been established in Zambia for the needs of business in this market.

FPM Agromehanika is recognized for its production program that includes rotary shredders, mowers, hay collectors, sprayers and pneumatic seed drills.
