China’s Minth requests green light to build fourth auto parts factory in Sabac

The Ministry of Environmental Protection announced that Minth Metal Parts Balkan doo Sabac (MMB) had submitted a request for approval for an environmental impact assessment study for the construction of MMB’s automotive industry facilities in Sabac.

MMB, which is part of the Chinese Minth group for the production of automotive parts, submitted the request in late February, preparing to embark on a project to build another Minth factory in the city on the Sava River.

The Minth Metal Parts Balkan investment will be Minth’s fourth investment in Sabac, and the new facility will produce decorative moldings and seals.

Let us remind that the first plant, for the production of aluminum parts for cars, was built by Minth United AlloyTeck Europe in 2022. The following year, construction began on Minth’s second factory (smelter) for aluminum processing, Minal Europe Green Material, and then on the third factory, owned by investor Minth Automotive Europe, for the production of battery housings for e-cars.

The Mayor of Sabac, Aleksandar Pajic, announced at the beginning of 2023 that the construction of the fourth factory, Minth Metal Parts Balkan, would begin by the end of the year.

According to the project, the new factory will be located in the North industrial zone in Sabac, on a plot of 100,000 m2 (cadastral plot no. 2780/31, KO Majur).

The factory is being built in the immediate vicinity of the existing Minth plants: Minal Europe Green Material d.o.o, Minth Automotive Europe and United Alloy‑Tech Europe d.o.o, with which it will form an automotive complex.

The construction of 18 buildings is planned, of which two are production halls, while the remaining 16 are auxiliary and supporting buildings. The total gross floor area of all buildings is 41,205.89 m2.

The factory is focused on the production of decorative moldings and sealing parts made of aluminum or stainless steel and plastic pellets, including front and rear door leaf moldings, roof moldings, lower external OBM moldings, front and rear triangle windows, guides and partition guides and door sealing strips.

Upon completion of the branch, the planned annual capacity of the factory for 2033 is 36 million decorative moldings and 136 million sealing parts.

The plan is to install 14 co-extrusion lines, 20 bending machines, 15 notching machines, as well as 33 robotic arms for placing and welding ends etc.

It is noted that Minth’s production complex uses the most modern BAT technology, with a strictly defined environmental impact.
