Srbijaautoput to reconstruct Novi Pazar-Ribarice main road for 2.2 billion dinars

The PE Roads of Serbia has awarded the Belgrade-based company Srbijaautoput the job of reconstructing the Novi Pazar-Ribarice main road, about 24.3 kilometers long, Sto plus radio announced yesterday. The value of the reconstruction is more than 2.2 billion dinars excluding taxes and was the most favorable in the tender, for which two other consortiums applied.

The joint bid of Strabag and Crnagoraput amounted to 2.6 billion, while the Turkish companies Ek-Pet and Avos Group came close to 2.8 billion dinars excluding taxes.

The Srbijaautoput company is a private company, founded in 1989, owned by Zeljko Jankovic, with Miloje Blizanjac having transferred his 100 percent stake to Jankovic in 2020. According to official data, they have, individually or in a consortium, won tenders worth more than 24.5 billion dinars since 2022, not counting the reconstruction of the Novi Pazar-Ribarice road.

The reconstruction involves the complete replacement of the road surface, the construction of retaining walls, a drainage system, the installation of fences, traffic signals and public lighting.

The works will be financed through a project of the European Investment Bank and funds from the Republic of Serbia.

The deadline for completion of the works is 16 months.
