Artificial intelligence taking over part of work on RTS portal – Public service introduces AI system for automatic writing and processing of news

The public media institution Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS) has announced a public procurement procedure for services to integrate artificial intelligence into the content input system on its portal, with an estimated value of 3 million dinars.

The subject of the procurement, as stated in the technical specification, includes the development and implementation of an AI solution that would enable automated creation and processing of media content, while maintaining editorial control of journalists.

Among the key functionalities required are automatic monitoring of social media accounts and generation of articles based on content from platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, X, Reddit, TikTok and LinkedIn, as well as the creation of texts from idea to final version with the possibility of subsequent AI processing.

The system should also enable the generation of articles from customized sources, such as the websites of state institutions, sports clubs and other organizations, as well as the analysis of content from other media in the country and abroad.

A special part of the requirements refers to automatic SEO optimization, transcription of audio and video recordings, generation of articles from YouTube content, as well as automatic fact-checking used by journalists in preparing texts.

Support for work in the Serbian language is also provided, including the user interface and commands, as well as mandatory technical support.

As stated, the testing of bidders will be carried out within five days of the opening of bids and will include 10 verification points, including the creation of articles from social networks, video and audio materials, text processing, SEO analysis and fact-checking.

The condition is that the test is passed with 100% success, and the bids of bidders who do not meet all the specified criteria will be rejected as inadequate.

The contract is concluded for a period of one year, and payment is provided for with a deferred deadline of 30 days after the delivery of services.
