Representatives of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of the Republic of Serbia, the Social Insurance Institute of Serbia, and the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation signed new agreements to improve the exercise of pension rights.

The Serbian delegation was led by Relja Ognjenovic, Director of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Serbia, and Zoran Panovic, Acting Director of the Social Insurance Institute, while the Russian delegation was led by Chirkov Sergey Alexandrovich, President of the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation. The signing of the documents and the working meeting were also attended by high-ranking officials of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Belgrade.

The Director of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Serbia, Relja Ognjenovic, emphasized that the working meeting was a continuation of the cooperation that had begun in 2017, when an agreement was signed in Moscow between the two countries and the two funds, which then entered into force in 2019.

– This was our basic platform for continuing cooperation and signing these three very important documents – the Agreement on Electronic Data Exchange, the Memorandum of Cooperation and the Protocol on Forms. What is very important is that at today’s meeting we will try to take a step further in cooperation between the two funds, which will have enormous benefits for our people who receive pensions from the Russian Federation, but also for Russian citizens who receive pensions from Serbia – said Ognjenovic.

Zoran Panovic, Acting Director of the Social Insurance Institution, emphasized that the Agreement on Electronic Data Exchange was one of the most important documents signed during the visit, as it would enable faster and simpler exchange of data necessary for the exercise of citizens’ rights.

The President of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation, Sergey Alexandrovich Chirkov, thanked the hosts for their hospitality and said that the signed documents would contribute to a more efficient exercise of the rights of insured persons, as well as to further strengthening cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two institutions and the two countries.
