– Given that ten years have passed since the start of construction and preparation of technical documentation, it is necessary to harmonize the technical documentation with new regulations and prepare technical documentation for amending the building permit and obtaining a solution regarding fire protection – the documentation states.
As stated, so far, reinforced concrete works have been carried out up to the beach level and prefabricated pools of the “Myrtha Pools” type with equipment for the operation of the pool have been installed. Installation works necessary for the operation of the installed pool equipment (electrical installations, water supply and sewage works) have also been carried out.
The structure of the planned facility is GF+2 (ground floor and two upper floors). The gross area of the planned facility is approximately 11,158 m2, of which approximately 8,000 m2 is indoor space.
As noted, the client has technical documentation on the basis of which it is necessary to prepare a separate project for a building permit, an amendment to the building permit and a project for execution.
– The project requires an assessment of the current state of the completed works and the inclusion of any possible repair or replacement of parts of the completed works in the new technical documentation. The level of technical documentation that needs to be prepared is a separate project for a building permit, an amendment to the building permit and a project for execution – it is pointed out.
The designer is obliged, before submitting a bid, to visit the site, get familiarized with the situation on the ground and the current state of the completed works, given that part of the works was completed in 2016, for which an adequate certificate will be issued.
Bids can be submitted until June 2, and more details (in Serbian) can be found HERE.
As a reminder, the cornerstone for the construction of the National Water Polo Center was laid in the spring of 2016. The construction of the ground floor (approximately 4,500 m2) of the future facility was completed in July 2016, after which the pool shells and associated equipment were installed by the supplier Myrtha Pools from Italy. At that time, the technical acceptance and handover of the facility were carried out, which was transferred to the ownership of the Vrnjacka Banja municipality, and part of the open floor of the facility was then fenced off and the pool beach paved. The construction of the future center stopped there. In the meantime, the municipality reduced the projected area of the facility by 12,000 m2.
That this project was lagging behind quite a bit was clear back in 2019 when our portal announced that approximately EUR 4 million was needed to complete this sports complex.
The state announced that, along with some other sports facilities, this sports complex in Vrnjacka Banja would definitely be completed by the end of that year.
This topic was brought up again during the summer of 2021, when it was announced that the National Water Polo Training Center in Vrnjacka Banja could be completed during that year or 2022, but under the new name of the National Water Sports Center. At that time, it was indicated to our portal from this municipality that the first phase of the project of installing three swimming pools and putting the pool equipment into operation had been completed. The coronavirus pandemic was also highlighted as one of the reasons for the slowdown in work.
Incidentally, the initial plan was that the National Water Polo Center, when completed, would primarily be available to the Water Polo Association of Serbia, and that during the period during the year when the national team members would not be training, it would be used for commercial purposes and offered to all other water polo and swimming teams.
